Higgsfield calls this Start and End Frames, and the company framed it as a move away from “vibe-based” random generations toward intent-driven storytelling (Higgsfield, 2026).

When you decide where a shot begins and where it lands, you get continuity between clips, you can match generated footage to an asset you already have, and you stop rerolling the same prompt ten times hoping the model reads your mind. My exact keyframe workflow, step by step
- Lock your Elements first. Before any frames, build your reusable assets. Elements are characters, locations, and props you create once and reference with @tags across every shot, and you can load up to 9 reference images to define the visual world (Higgsfield, 2026). This is what keeps the same face and the same room across all of your keyframes.
- Generate a clean hero keyframe. Your first anchor sets lighting, composition, and character detail. I generate mine at high resolution in Nano Banana Pro or FLUX.2, then bring it into Higgsfield. The sharper the source frame, the cleaner the motion. Higgsfield’s own recommended workflow says the same thing: generate precise keyframe images first, then upload them as references.
- Build the sequence in Popcorn. Drop your hero frame into Popcorn and let Auto mode extend it into a storyboard, or use Manual mode to place each frame yourself. Keep the wardrobe, the lens, and the light consistent. Every frame you approve here becomes a candidate keyframe for animation.
- Send two frames into Start and End Frames. Pick the frame where the shot begins and the frame where it lands. Upload the start image, upload the end image, and the model animates the path between them. If you only care about where the motion resolves, you can constrain the shot with the end frame alone, a capability Kling 3.0 added on Higgsfield (Higgsfield, 2026).
- Set the camera and the motion. Cinema Studio 3 gives you virtual lenses, focal lengths, and multi-axis motion controls. Choose the lens that matches your look, such as a 16mm or anamorphic feel for drama, then let the keyframes guide how the camera travels. - Chain the last frame. Take the final frame of the generated clip and use it as the start frame of the next shot. This is how you build a three-shot or five-shot scene that actually flows, instead of cutting between clips that were never meant to connect.
Which model to animate with
Start and End Frames run on Higgsfield’s video models, and Kling is the one I reach for most because its start-and-end-frame control is the most precise (Higgsfield, 2026). Tips from doing this on real reels
- Match your resolution. If your start frame is crisp and your end frame is soft, the motion inherits the softness. Generate both anchors at the same quality.
- Keep the change small per shot. Start and End Frames animate a path. If the two frames are wildly different, the model invents strange in-between geometry. Move one thing at a time: the camera, the subject, or the light, not all three at once.

- Let the AI director draft, not decide. Cinema Studio 3.5 has a built-in Claude Chat director that can break a script into shots and pre-fill camera settings, but it drops prompts into the box for your review and never generates on its own (Higgsfield, 2026). Treat it as a first-draft assistant, not an autopilot.
