Budget a few minutes per clip and generate these in a batch while you work on the edit. The clips are silent, which for cutaways is irrelevant since your music and voiceover carry the audio.

Anything with a face, a camera move, a character action, or a product spin leaves Midjourney at this point. An honest list, because this is where people waste money:
- The 720p cap. Full-screen vertical hero shots at 720p look soft next to 1080p footage from a dedicated video model. Mixing the two works only if the Midjourney clips stay in supporting roles.
- Silent clips. No ambient audio means every clip needs sound design in the edit. Fine for reels, a real cost for longer formats.
- No multi-shot structure. You animate one still at a time. There is no scene logic, no shot-to-shot continuity control, nothing like the multi-shot prompting you get elsewhere.
- Render time. Stills arrive in seconds; video takes minutes. Batch accordingly or the wait breaks your editing flow.
